I’m in Port Wentworth at Solomon’s Tract, a subsection of the Savannah Wildlife Refuge. It is forest & marsh mostly. Many Tufted Titmouse's could be heard & observed flying from branch to branch & pecking at them occasionally. A variety of birds could be seen and heard including two Pileated Woodpeckers that seemed to be communicating with each other.
Concerning the Marsh I was shocked at the lack of wading birds. No Egrets, Herons, Ibises, etc. Swamp Sparrows could be heard & seen among the brush but the typical wading birds you’d expect in this marsh were absent. A group of 5 Red-Winged Blackbirds were observed in a tree before flying off together.
